Sue roomed with Michelle in a dorm while she attended college. Sue was 5-5 and 117 lbs. She had real short black hair and brown eyes and was a kind of tomboy. The reason I know her weight and height -- she
told me once, so no guessing here. She was an avid skier from Marlton, New Jersey and also played some softball and did some swimming.
She was in great shape but her body build was petite and thin. In fact, if you ever saw Marie Osmond at the age of 17, you would know Sue's body build. With her short hair and brown eyes, she actually did look a lot like Osmond, though her face had a look all its own.
Michelle was about three inches taller and probably about 20 pounds heavier. I didn't know much about Michelle -- Sue was my connection to this incident. As far as how Michelle looked, well, she had long
strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes and looked like a 5-8 cross between Sally Struthers and Charlene Tilton.
It was a hot day and Sue and Michelle were both wearing shorts and t-shirts. The two freshmen girls had had their usual tiffs that roommates do -- coming in late drunk, wanting to go to bed when the other
wanted to study, things like that. With the weather hot as it was and with exams coming up, some of the girls were a little on edge. Like Michelle.
Sue had this thing for plants. She had them all over the place and Michelle kind of had problems with the numerous pots and all that. When Sue left for the weekend, she expected Michelle to water them for
her. Sometimes Sue would come back and find them unwatered and the two would get into an argument about it. Add that to the fact that Michelle was
having boyfriend problems and, well, the kindling was dry and ready to be lit, if you catch my drift.
On the day of the famous incident, Michelle was sitting at her desk, studying. She had been doing so
for a while and was really into it, but obviously she wasn't enjoying it. And she obviously didn't want to be disturbed. Anyway, Sue was watering her plants -- some of them on Michelle's desk. Michelle put up with
the plants on her desk, but somewhat unwillingly. Anyway, Sue was watering her plants with her big waterpot when she suddenly poured water down the
back of Michelle's back and onto her head!
Sue was doing it kind of as a joke to break the study tension, but Michelle's first reaction was what you would guess! She stood up from her desk and shrieked in surprise! Sue knew she was in trouble and, quick
thinker that she was, she dove onto Michelle's bed and rolled onto her back, grabbing the sides of the bed with her hands and screamed, "If you get me wet, you get your bed wet, too!"
Michelle was fooling around a little, too, but Sue noticed a look of determined vengeance in her eyes. She was just a little bit angry about being Bill Parcellsed. Anyway, Sue was lying on her bed on her
back, holding onto her bed -- wide open for Michelle's next surprising move as she jumped on top of Sue and schoolgirl pin her on the bed. Sue squealed in surprise as the heavier woman came down on her chest and ribs butt first, forcing the air out of Sue as she held Sue's wrists tightly, forcing Sue's arms to the bed in the pin!
Michelle then tried to pry Sue's hands off her
bedsheets so she could pull her off the bed, but Sue had a good hold.
Suddenly Michelle grabbed Sue by her short hair with one hand, got off the bed, and pulled! Sue let out this scream of pain as Michelle tugged her off the bed with one hand in her hair to the floor and began to
drag her to the water pots by the hair as though she owned her! With Sue screaming as she was being
dragged to the pots with one hand, Sue began to kind of beg for mercy. Something like, "OK, Michelle! I'm sorry! I was just fooling around! Let me go!"
Sue was kind of wimpering! I couldn't believe that Sue was wimping out, begging for mercy from another woman in a fair fight!
Well, Michelle showed no mercy. She dragged her to her desk by the hair with one hand, grabbed one of the pots with the other, schoolgirl pinned Sue to the floor and then proceeded to pour the entire waterpot on
Sue's face! As Sue gurgled, Michelle grabbed a second water pot, stood up and completely doused Sue all over! Sue finally stood up, soaking wet and her soggy clothes dripping all over the floor -- thoroughly humiliated!
As I look back on this incident, I recall at first Michelle and myself, as well as Sue, laughing about it after it was over. There stood Sue, who said, "I look like I just fell into a pool!" But when I look back
at what happened, I have to admit that Michelle pretty well humiliated Sue in that encounter. And I recall Michelle walking around pretty confidently after
that as she knew she had forced Sue to do her bidding and, if it came to it, could force her will on Sue anytime she really wanted. In that struggle, Michelle to me had proven she was the better woman and I think Sue knew it, too. Michelle had really dominated
her and left Sue wet and pretty well embarrassed.
The thing that surprised me about this was that Sue gave such a poor accounting of herself. Turns out that Michelle had had some fights in her day and knew a little about defending herself while Sue never had
fought. But I knew Sue's competitive nature and I always thought that if Sue did get into a fight she'd hold her own. Sue used to play ping pong with
another girl in the rec room and beat her every time. One night, she lost a match to her and Sue didn't talk for the rest of the night. Losing
really bothered her. The fact that Sue was also in great shape and was pretty athletic made me think that Sue would do OK in a fight.
But I guess I was wrong. Sue wasn't assertive at all and was defensive during the entire encounter. Now, maybe it was because she was kind of fooling around. But when Michelle pinned her, I thought Sue would
find a way out. Michelle never gave her the chance and grabbed her hair and just yanked her off the bed and dragged her with one hand across the floor in
a real dominant kind of move. I guess looking back on it Michelle was just plain bigger and stronger and more aggressive than Sue.
Perhaps strength and aggressiveness is more important than competitive nature and fitness when it comes to physical confrontations. It was here.
Later I asked Sue, "How could you let her do that to you?" Sue kind of said she was just fooling around. But she never tried to tell me that things would have been different if this or that happened. I think
Sue was beginning to realize she had just been physically dominated by a bigger, stronger and better gal and wanted to do something to avenge her humiliation, but knew that the result of any further encounters would be the same. So she just let it lie.
