     When Fighting Style first came out a couple of years ago as 'just another women's fight site' I have to admit I was quite impressed with their photography and videography, not to mention the intense level of competitive fights between fit and capable women who give it their all when engaging their opponents. You have to appreciate the extra effort they put into their production work to fully capture the action. There's nothing worse than knowing there was a superb fight put on by courageous ladies and not being able to see anything due to poor camera work. This has always been a frustrating aspect seen in a few companies. But not Fighting Style. They put you right in the action in full view, clear and tight.

       Last fall, Fighting Style put on a live event on the Island of Greece, calling it the Goddess of Wrestling Tournement. They gathered up the best of their fighters, headed south on the Med and let the women have a go at each other. And what a show they put on. Over the winter months, you've no doubt have seen the promo pics in our Featured Galleries, bringing you tasty samples of the action. I didn't know it at the time that the Fighting Style people were actually working towards releasing DVDs of the event. After having seen many of the sampler clips and photos from the event, I knew I had to get my hands on these DVDs. These are sold as four individual DVDs, each encompasing a certain style; catfighting, topless, wrestling and elements (beach grass and water). Never being able to decide one over the other, I picked up all four. Why not, the price was right at $39.95 each.

      This review is different than the others as each DVD has four matches each, and there is a little of everything and a lot of everything on each DVD, I couldn't actually pick the one DVD that I liked more over the others. And I'm kinda picky when it comes to real competitive action. I hate watching real people kick the shit out of each other but I do love watching women 'intellgently' try to best their opponent. And these ladies certainly give it their all. You'd think I'd pick the topless matches over the non-topless matches but I couldn't, there is too much on each DVD to say one was better than the other, and all four were that much fun to watch! The descriptions given on the Fighting Style DVD Shop website are quite accurate and not 'self-indulgent' boasting how great their DVDs are, they give you the facts, show you the sampler pics and clips and leave it up to you to decide which to order. Don't you hate that?! =) All them free samplers?

      The one thing I do appreciate in women's competitive matches is when the ladies are intelligent enough to know how to fight properly, in other words, not out to maim or injure their opponent but know how to bring on the pain to try and force a submission with skill and abilities. Many of the ladies featured in these matches are quite skilled and able to do just that, bring home the pain. And don't let their petite slim sizes fool you, they can wrap them legs and arms around you and squeeeeeeeze like there was no tomorrow. When they lock up for the fight, it's all or nothing as they engage in total combat for the win. It's different to see them tear away at each other and when they get the win, turn to make sure their beaten and vanquished opponent is still ok. (so she can kick her ass again?!) It's that kind of respect that makes these genre of fights enjoyable to view. It's not a street brawl, but skilled fighting to the end.

     Oh and they have the hotties. Yes, OK.. I want to watch a skilled fighter take apart her opponent with precision and determination. But when you combine all that with several drop dead gorgeous babes, you know you have a winning combination. I believe the name is Artemis(sp), when this goddess steps up for a fight, you get it all. Beauty, skill and determination. She's my fav of the fighters. I'm a sucker for women who can fight and have beautiful eyes. What can I say.. (and yes, her eyes are blue =)

    One of the more entertaining fights comes from Gaia. This gal with her tresses doesn't seem to fare well in her fights and is easily prone to howling and angered screams of pain. She always appears to be outmatched by her opponents or that she has a low threshhold for pain, especially for the hair pulls (what do you expect, showing up for a fight with all that hair done up nicely?!). You know she's not having a good time with the fight but she sticks with it and gives it her best try. But man, to hear her cries of hair pulled pain and frustrations, wow.

      Over all, across all four DVDs, there wasn't a dud fight, to be honest. Each match was entertaining and most fights are quite enjoyable, worthy for several viewings. You know how it is, you buy a video from a company, you watch it once, perhaps twice and meh, move on.. Some however, are entertaining enough that you'll pull it out several times to catch some of the action you missed the first or second time around. That's how it is with these DVDs.

      All in all, I have to take my hat off to the Fighting Style people.. For their first step out into the DVD/Video world, they did an excellent job. You can tell they put a lot of thought and planning into their production work and it paid off nicely with and excellent product. Well done! I'm hoping they come out with DVDs of their inhouse fights. The video clips I'd seen in the past tell me those would be excellent to have in anyone's collection..

      If you're a fan of REAL competitive action (catfighting, wrestling) between gorgeous women who actually know how to fight and put on a good show, any of these videos will do well in your collection. As mentioned before, I couldn't pick out the one only DVD I would call my favourite so I'm basing this review on the "Series". I'm pretty sure you'll not be disapointed with any of them.

     For a whole Series of DVDs to get a 9 Star rating is quite impressive. The people at Fighting Style and the ladies featured in the fight matches certainly deserve this rating. I was very impressed with the Series and I do look forward to seeing what they will come up with next.
