Okay, Seaking,

So I broke down and ordered both The Trap and Brandy's

RG-006 so that I could see for myself what was up.  As

it turns out, I actually preferred Brandy's tape.  BUT

before you go thinking that means I'm giving RG-006 a

10+ or something, I should explain that Hollywood's

tape would not have gotten a 9 from me (more like a

6).  I think it's purely my own idiosyncracies, so I

don't fault your review of The Trap, and I don't fault

Hollywood at all.  In fact, I think she did a really

good job with her role in the tape, which had a pretty

original storyline.

My main problem was with Lisa Comshaw's punches.  And

this is where the idiosyncrasies come in.  Ten years

ago, I probably would have given the tape a 9 because

I was just discovering that tapes were being made

along these lines at all, and anything close to my

interest would have seemed like gold.  But over time

(and lots of tapes), I've become harder to please in

the sense that I've become more aware of my *specific*

tastes, and my tolerance has gone down for things that

are just in the ballpark but not really at home plate.

This probably happens to lots of folks over time.

In short, I didn't like Lisa's habit of standing

flat-footed and telegraphing her body punches from 3

feet away, so that her delivery often looked more like

a lunge than a solid punch.  I could even see this in

the still shots you posted on your site, but I was

hoping you just caught her at bad moments.  Turns out

that's her main m.o. (at least in this tape).  To me,

it's difficult to believe there is any power behind a

"punch" that looks like a lunge.  Better to have her

stand in close to her opponent, and draw her fist way

back in the wind-up, and then fire a solid uppercut

that she accents with a twist of her upper body at the

moment of impact to communicate power in the delivery.

She can even step into it a little from up close, but

not just leaning her whole torso from 3 feet away with

her feet planted.  This may sound specialized, but to

me, it is the most convincing demonstration of what a

damaging stomach punch would look like (i.e., the way

"tough guys" throw them at each other in the movies;

though my interest is strictly fem-fem, a convincing

"tough guy" punch is what I want the ladies to throw).

In my experience, few lady wrestlers making tapes

today actually know how to throw body blows that look,

well, manly, tough.  And punches that look at all

girlie or wimpy just don't work for me.  So even

though Hollywood sold the punches quite well, and Lisa

had great attitude, the look of the punches themselves

was mostly a disappointment.  For comparison purposes,

my favorite sluggers are Franchesca and J(G)asae (I've

only seen their DT tapes), who both pretty

consistently throw their stomach punches as I have

described.  Had The Trap been Franchesca vs.

Hollywood, it probably would have been a 9+ for me.

Anyway, I'm going on and on.  Bottom line is that

Brandy actually punches reasonably well in RG-006, and

her attitude/taunting is decent too.  Her opponent,

Lynn, isn't quite as good with the attitude and punch

delivery, but she wasn't terrible either, and she

certainly was a beautiful punching bag for Brandy.  I

give it an 8+.  You may want to check it out.
